It’s time to raise the bar

We strongly believe that sustainability is the new normal, and we are determined to act accordingly: to let it guide every decision we make. Our ambition is to be the world's most sustainable staffing company by 2030.

"Working closely with our operating companies around the world, is a real privilege. It means that on a daily basis I have the opportunity to see firsthand how much colleagues are contributing to a better and more prosperous future, for candidates and for society at large. I see commitment and genuine enthusiasm, which is contagious and enables us to continually raise the bar.

And, it has to be said, that is no luxury. When I take a step back and look at the bigger picture, I’m often reminded of how much action is still needed to make our world truly sustainable. Yesterday’s sustainability standards are simply not good enough if we want everyone to benefit. We need to step up our game and commit to goals that perhaps only a few years ago we would have felt were too ambitious.

It’s in our DNA

At RGF Staffing, this presents us with a challenge and a huge opportunity, to seize a position of leadership by being brave enough to set a really ambitious goal. And that’s what we have done. Our ambition is to be the world's most sustainable staffing company by 2030. We strongly believe that sustainability is the new normal, and we are determined to act accordingly: to let it guide every decision we make.

Such an ambitious goal is only worth setting if you are serious about achieving it. To help us keep on track we adopted the ESG model (Environmental, Social, Governance). Our key commitments in this model are that we conserve and improve our environment (we want to be carbon neutral by 2030!); to create opportunities for all, to inspire our people and candidates through work and embrace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and to safeguard human rights and dignity for all. I encourage you to read up on the detail of how we're going to achieve this on our sustainability page.

It's time to step up

I can hear you thinking: that's quite an ambition. And you are absolutely right. But building a truly sustainable business is going to be the only way of doing business successfully. The world around us is changing, and as a global organization with so much impact on a local level, it’s our duty to take responsibility.

The good news is that we don’t need to start from scratch. As I meet with and talk to colleagues throughout our company, I’m proud to see so many initiatives that are already increasing our positive sustainable impact. In our new brand movie we highlight how we’re helping people, companies, governments and societies to thrive. We are clearly practicing what we preach and we have embraced sustainability in word and deed. Some great examples of how our operating companies contribute can be found here.

Still, we have a long way to go and have some catching up to do in the coming years. Our sustainability transformation requires that all of us, as well as our employees, candidates, clients and suppliers to work together to achieve long-term value in sustainability.

I'll be honest: it's going to be a challenging journey, that will force us to make difficult choices along the way. For example, we've identified technology as a crucial enabler of our future growth, but at the same time that will require careful choices along the way when it comes to controlling the energy consumption of ever more and larger data centers.

It will be an exciting journey. And I am eager to get started. We want to set the right example, working closely together as global network, and inspiring others to take action as well. If not now, then when?
